Luke's compositional output spans a wide variety of musical genres, with a particular focus on choral music, opera, and musical theatre.
A multi-movement work for chorus and chamber orchestra, with each movement honoring a different U.S. National Park — a living musical record of the country's wild places. More below ↓
An epic, radiant celebration of the sun and its quiet, constant beauty — equally at home opening a concert or closing one, written for a program devoted to the wonder of the cosmos.
A choral work setting the poem of the same name by Lord Byron (1788–1824) — a quiet meditation on loss, heartbreak, and love remembered long after in silence, for unaccompanied choir.
A celebratory piece for the opera Ma Grâce Te Suffit — a surface tribute to the Aurora Borealis, with deeper meaning in its title character.
An opera whose title is French for My Grace Is Sufficient. It is based on Aurore and Aimée, Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont’s fairy tale of two sisters and the trials of the elder, Aurore.
A musical written in 2020 that sets the trials of that year against the flood of Noah’s Ark: separation from loved ones, confinement, and the strain on social life.
Written for Hogar de Niños Emmanuel, a children’s home for orphans in Honduras. The story tells of beloved classic toys that come to life and compete on a game show of trivia, board games, dice, and cards.
A backstage retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears in which a cast of Grimm characters learns that “’tis much better to give than to receive.”

National parks showcase the geographic diversity of this country and the beauty of the natural world. In tribute to these treasures — and to unite two of his greatest passions, choral music and the outdoors — Luke has taken on an ambitious, long-term endeavor: composing a unique choral work inspired by each of the U.S. National Parks.
This journey began with a new set of compositions premiered with the Tucson Masterworks Chorale in Spring 2026, honoring Yosemite, Acadia, Badlands, Saguaro, New River Gorge, Dry Tortugas, Grand Teton, Mt. Rainier, and the Grand Canyon.
Each movement is paired with original poetry written by Luke himself, drawn from time actually spent in these places — standing at an overlook, hiking a trail, or simply sitting still long enough to let a landscape make its impression. The choral writing follows that same instinct, leaning on open voicings and long, breath-like phrases that mirror the scale of what inspired them.
The project is intended to grow for years to come, with new parks and new movements added as Luke's own travels continue — a living musical record of the country's wild places, one park at a time.
“While acknowledging that no composition can fully capture the vast beauty of Mother Nature, I believe her splendor and power demand to be celebrated through song.”
— Luke Diamond, Artistic Vision, Tucson Masterworks Chorale
YosemiteAnd just when you think that you've heard every word and you've seen all there is to be seen, open your eyes, behold.
Grand TetonSentinels of rock and snow, guarding precious greenery, guarding o'er the earth below, an ever brilliant scenery.
New River GorgeSee adventures on the river, see a journey on the land. Cross the bridge with open wonder, let your wildest dreams expand.
AcadiaThough one may paint with skillful, patient care, no work can hold this vast creation rare. A masterpiece no brush can truly claim, but only held memories to cherish frame.
Dry TortugasYour sands are rich with treasure, your thoughts are aged and wise, your sea life blessed with pleasure, your bird life blessed with skies.
BadlandsJagged ridges, jagged teeth that saw on the horizon, fragile hills, and underneath a labyrinth to get lost in.
Mount RainierBeauty, pure to see, captivating me, in this sight, no flaw — breathing in the awe.
SaguaroThe boundless sky spreads far and wide, the sun unhindered roams with pride, and basking in its desert charms, Saguaro reigns with open arms.
Grand CanyonHow many hundreds and thousands, millions and billions have been blessed in all your worth? How many years and decades, centuries, millennia, have you blessed the earth?
